Bened Shipping BV operates a network of 12 tank storage terminals across the Netherlands with a combined capacity exceeding 250,000 cubic metres. Our facilities are strategically positioned along the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta and the North Sea Canal, providing direct access to Europe's most important inland waterway system and the Port of Rotterdam, the largest seaport in Europe.
We provide open-access and long-term storage contracts for a diverse range of liquid bulk products. Our terminals are equipped to handle everything from crude oil and refined petroleum products to specialty chemicals, vegetable oils, and next-generation biofuels. Each facility is designed and operated in full compliance with the Seveso III Directive, the Dutch Environmental Management Act (Wet milieubeheer), and applicable ATEX regulations for hazardous environments.

Tank Types & Technical Specifications
Our terminal infrastructure includes a variety of tank configurations to meet specific product requirements:
- Fixed Roof Tanks: Standard atmospheric storage for non-volatile products such as diesel, gasoil, and vegetable oils. Capacities range from 1,000 to 10,000 m³ per tank.
- Floating Roof Tanks: Designed for volatile products including gasoline, naphtha, and crude oil. Floating roofs minimise vapour emissions and product loss. Capacities from 5,000 to 20,000 m³.
- Pressurised Tanks: For LPG and other liquefied gases operating at elevated pressures. Rated to 25 bar design pressure with full secondary containment.
- Insulated & Heated Tanks: Equipped with internal heating coils and external insulation for temperature-sensitive products such as bitumen, palm oil, and heavy fuel oil. Temperature range: ambient to 150°C.
- Stainless Steel Tanks: Food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade tanks (AISI 304/316L) for high-purity liquid products with electropolished interior surfaces.
Terminal Infrastructure & Technology
Our terminals are equipped with modern systems that ensure operational efficiency, product integrity, and regulatory compliance:
- Automated Tank Gauging (ATG): Radar-based level gauges with temperature sensors provide real-time inventory data accurate to within ±1 mm. All measurements are integrated into our central inventory management system.
- SCADA Monitoring: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems provide continuous monitoring of tank levels, temperatures, pressures, and valve positions. Alarms are configured for all critical parameters with automatic escalation to the control room.
- Jetty & Berthing: Dedicated jetties with draft depths up to 9.5 metres LAT (Lowest Astronomical Tide) accommodate vessels up to 10,000 DWT. Loading arms and hoses rated for the full range of stored products.
- Road & Rail Loading: Dedicated loading gantries with automated batch controllers, overfill protection, and vapour recovery units. Our Werkendam terminal features 6 road loading bays and 2 rail sidings.
- Pipeline Network: Interconnected pipeline systems between tanks and loading points, with segregated product lines to prevent cross-contamination. Pigging capability for pipeline cleaning between product changes.
- Fire Protection: Comprehensive fire detection and suppression systems including foam deluge systems, firewater ring mains, and hydrant networks. All terminals comply with NFPA and NPR standards.

Contract Options
We offer flexible storage arrangements to suit your operational requirements:
- Long-Term Contracts: 1-5 year agreements with preferential rates and guaranteed capacity allocation. Ideal for producers, traders, and distributors with consistent storage needs.
- Short-Term / Spot Storage: Available for periods of 1-12 months, subject to terminal availability. Suitable for traders managing seasonal demand or project-specific cargo.
- Throughput Agreements: Pay-per-tonne pricing based on volume handled. Includes storage, loading, and transshipment services in a single rate.
